Swami Vivekananda an Indian monk, a philosopher, author, religious teacher and one of the pioneers of socio-religious enlightenment was born on January 12, 1863. During the course of a short life of 39 years (1863-1902), his achievements were immense. He dedicated his life to the higher call of promoting peace, serving the humanity and spreading the philosophy of Hinduism.
